In the UK, there are still significant amounts of Asbestos within privately held properties. These include commercial buildings, dockyards, industrial sites, construction sites, and residential homes.
Although the risks from asbestos fibres are likely to be higher in buildings constructed 1985 due to the building materials used at this time, asbestos was not banned in the UK until 1999. As such if your house was built or renovated before the year 2000, it might still contain asbestos materials.
